We are nearing the end of our unit Who We Are. This week we have focused on Learning and the Brain and also the best conditions to enable us to learn. We created presentations to share with the Primary School at assembly and we made a poster for each class with the ways to help them learn each day in their classroom. Below you can see the photos our our groups and the poster we made for the other classes.

This week we took some time out to check on our friends and reminded each other how important it is to ask R U OK? 10th September each year is R U OK Day. #ruokday2020 This week we also focused on different learning communities and our ATL of research skills. We researched about the education system in our home countries and the different types of learning styles.
This week we started swimming lessons. Although the lessons had to be conduction in a way that the students were socially distanced, they still had lots of fun and learnt new skills. Here are some of their reflections and some photos. On Monday, my class and I went to the Sports Lifestyle Center at Bukit Merah for the swimming lesson.First, the coaches tested us to see what we can do and can’t do. After they finished testing us, they started split us into a couple of groups. I was with Justin, Haoming, Sara and Daniel.when they finished splitting us into groups, we started swimming.first we did kicking . Lastly, we swam using arms and then we did freestyle. Finally we finished the swimming lesson.we said thank you to our coaches and rode back to school by bus and ate our snacks at school. I really enjoyed the first swimming lesson. By Anri On Monday, I went swimming with my class at the Sports Lifestyle Centre at Bukit Merah. I went to the pool by bus. The bus was as big as an elephant . It had a lot of seats . When we got to the pool, we had to line up to go inside and take off our masks . Also, we had to take our goggles out of our swim bags and sit down on the steps, waiting for the next instruction. The coaches tested each of us to see what we could do and then they put us into groups . They told me to swim freestyle to the first ladder and then breaststroke to the next ladder. I did a good job . After the test, I felt very elated . I learned how to float on my back and swim freestyle without a kick board. The coach told the 4 of the kids in our group to do 2 rounds of everything we learnt without a kick board. I also learned how to kick properly with and without a kick board. I changed into my school uniform and put my socks and shoes on and went out to wait for the bus back to school. I felt very tired because I swam for 2 hours . I can't wait to go back next week and learn more! I wanted to swim more. By Sara In mathematics this week Grade 4 had an opportunity to show what they know about large numbers, addition, subtraction an also multiplication and division. The students had to choose their own numbers and create mind maps that show everything they can think of that makes that number special.
